Black has approached us with a challenge to create a standout brand and design an interface that was simple and natural to navigate, whilst also crafting marketing collateral from scratch. As the lead creative and strategic partner, here at Visions Design, we embraced this challenge with open arms.
Since we have become Black's creative and strategic partners, we have taken it into our hands to do ALL the research. We have gathered over 200 pages of UX research to give us insight into the customer journey and the best way to create a brand that is all about simplicity and elegance.
Once all the research was composed, we used it to create informed design decisions that not only look good but also have a purpose. From the clever logo design and advanced packaging, to exhibit stands and email signatures, we created a brand that is simple yet luxurious.
We took cues from the product itself when brainstorming ideas for the logo. We came up with a design that cleverly included elements resembling aligned lock pins. This not only nodded to the smart lock's precision engineering but also gave off vibes of simplicity. We also made sure the logo could fit anywhere – whether it's on a teeny phone screen or a massive billboard. This flexibility was key to keeping things looking sharp wherever you saw the Black X logo.
So, for Black's packaging, we went with a sleek satin black finish. It gave off major vibes of class and luxury – you know, the kind that makes you feel fancy just looking at it. This choice of colour (a simple deep black)wasn't just about making the product look good, though. It added a bit of sophistication to the whole packaging deal. We used CAD design to craft every single bit of the packaging, making sure it fit together perfectly. From the inside tray to the outer box, we left no stone unturned in making sure every detail was on point, giving you that seamless and put-together look.

When we got down to designing the UX/UI for Black X's smart lock project, our main aim was to make it feel like a perfect fit for each user. We dug through over 200 pages of UX research to really get what makes people tick. With all that juicy info, we set about creating a personalised app and website that felt like they were made just for you. We wanted everything to flow smoothly, so you could breeze through the app and website while checking out all the cool features of the smart lock.
We opted for a sleek and intuitive design that focused on providing users with a seamless journey through the product's features and functionality. The website is all about the on-scroll experience – a visual delight that showcases exactly how the lock works, all in a super minimalistic way.
We focused on a clean and intuitive layout, ensuring that navigating through the product catalogue was seamless and enjoyable. The design elements were chosen to reflect the contemporary feel of Black, with smooth animations and responsive features that catered to both desktop and mobile users. We sprinkled micro animations throughout Black X's smart lock project to add some flair and keep users engaged. Think of subtle movements like buttons changing colour when you hover over them or icons that subtly morph into different shapes. These micro animations might seem small, but they pack a punch in terms of making the whole experience feel more immersive and interactive. They're the little surprises that put a smile on your face as you explore the app or website, making the whole journey that much more enjoyable.

Our team got to work on creating a fully e-commerce platform powered by WordPress. Our goal was to make the online experience as smooth as possible for users, whether browsing on a desktop or tapping away on their phone. From coding the back end to designing the front end, every aspect of the website was carefully crafted to ensure it looked great and worked seamlessly.
To effectively showcase the product's features, our team utilised 3D assets to create an engaging and dynamic narrative. By incorporating Adobe After Effects, we enhanced the video with high-quality animations and effects, ensuring the final product was visually compelling. We chose a fast tempo to highlight the innovative and cutting-edge nature of the product, making sure it captured attention and left a lasting impression.
