HOW FRESH CONTENT CAN HELP YOUR BUSINESS

Everyone uses the web to search for businesses or people, whether it’s to search for an address or to look for reviews. Your website is your image; it represents you as a brand. As a result of this, it is very important to keep your website up to date with fresh content. Would you try and sell your goods/services face to face with customers if you were dressed in your pyjamas? No, I didn’t think so. So why have an unprofessional website?

Don’t forget that it is common for a customer to see your website before encountering any other part of your business so it’s important to keep it brimming with fresh content. Keeping your website up to date is as important as having a website. And keeping your customer attached to your business website is as important as running the business. Software like Sage 300 field service integrations help large businesses handle their customer base, less that they mess up and lose the customer because of human error. Hence, if your business grows, it’s important that you take the help of the many CRM softwares to handle your assets.

“What is fresh content?” I hear you ask. That’s a very good question. Fresh content can range from rejuvenating images on your website to adding a blog and updating it each week. A common mistake people make is thinking fresh content means new content, this isn’t always the case.

A blog is a fantastic way to supply your website with fresh content. A blog allows you to give opinions on relevant topics that affect you and your business. This can help spark healthy debates amongst customers and other bloggers who share similar interests, and all this is helping to add fresh content to your website. Really it’s a win-win for you!

So now you’re thinking “I now know what fresh content is, but why is it good?” Well, fresh content is good for you and your business in several ways. For example, fresh content will almost certainly mean new keywords being used on your website and the more keywords that are linked to your website the higher you will rank in Google.  So every time you are wondering whether or not to post that new blog or update a status make sure you do because each time Google will recognise it as new content and match keywords.

Fresh content also promotes a positive brand image. Customers love up to date websites filled with high-quality fresh content. We’ve probably all looked at commercial websites, taken one look and thought “this is terrible, it’s not user-friendly, it hasn’t been updated in the last 18 months, I’ll have a look at another website”.

A website is often the difference between a customer buying and not buying so maintaining your website has fresh content will help to keep you ahead of your competitors which is never a bad thing!

Have you ever heard of an authority website? Well for those who haven’t, an authority website is a site that a search engine will prioritise over others when the results of a search are listed. For example, if you search “UK News”, Google will bring up the BBC News website first in a list of 1.3 billion other sites. The reason for this is because BBC News is Google’s authority website for that search. If you keep your website fresh and of a high-quality Google will recognise that. This will then mean that when people search a certain topic you will be the first website listed. As a result of this, more people will visit your website which is just one reason why keeping fresh high-quality content is incredibly important.

Hopefully, I’ve convinced you that fresh content is a good thing for your website. Remember the topics that have been covered; the content should be relevant, interesting and as up to date as possible which obviously applies to all types of fresh content whether it be in a blog or on an information board.
